HIC was created in 1972 by brothers Stephan and Jimmy Tsukayama. HIC was inspired by the Hawaiian culture and now designs clothing for the surf industry. Hawaiian Island Creations makes clothing from boardshorts, t shirts, shorts, hats and more. It didn't take long before the clothing line spread past Hawaii. HIC is now known throughout the US, Europe, Brazil, Australia and Japan.
